Saint Augustine, Florida Narrative

I was tasked with creating an artifact based on experience. My experience was based on my time in St. Augustine, Florida, specifically the town's history, shops/attractions, and landmarks. I wanted to inform others about my experience through an interactive element, so I created a washed-up bottle with a treasure map taking you around the town inside and some advice from me! This was created using Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.

The Process:

I started with rough sketches and mockups of the map and how it would be placed in the bottle. Initially, I wondered if I could fit a book in the bottle, but unfortunately, it could not.

My first printout test made me realize I needed a more significant margin on the map,

wooden dowels to make it easier to keep open, a better label, and some other details

shown in my final version above!
